Treatment

An Amatsu consultation is normally either half an hour or a full hour, depending on the needs of the client and is referred to as a ‘balance’.

Firstly, a detailed personal history will be taken.  I will consider everything you say as important and will give you the time to talk fully about your problem. It is very important to put the pieces together so both you and I have the fullest picture of what your body is doing or not doing.

"The person with the best knowledge about the clients problem, are the clients themselves."

As your Amatsu practitioner I will then literally look at you from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. I will then use observation, muscle testing and palpation (touch) to gather information on the state of your body.  After appraising your needs a treatment will consist of a combination of the following techniques:

  • Massage

  • Visceral Mobilisation

  • Re-patterning

  • Energy techniques

Most minor problems such as viruses etc can be effectively treated in one or two balances.  In acute cases however, a treatment protocol would include a consultation examination and evaluation, followed by anything between 4 to 6 weekly sessions, then re-evaluation, and if required a management or rehabilitation programme.  The number of treatments required will also depend on the individual problems.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Remember it is your body.

I will then advise you on how to look after yourself between treatments and give recommendations on what to do and what not do to get the best out of the treatment.

Amatsu can be both extremely gentle or quite vigorous. While carrying out the treatment I will explain and discuss with you why I am doing what I am doing, and how the different techniques work .
